System Design Interview: Software, DB schema and API design

One-hour system design problem for software-based system design, such as planning out one or two software services, API design, etc.
Talk to your recruiter about what kind of system design you should expect for your interview to choose the right session with me. If you are expecting an infrastructure-based system design (eg, planning out multiple services, databases, queues, etc) then you should book a different session with me.
I'll work with you through one of several unique system design prompts of things I've actually built over my career in the tech industry. The interview will focus a lot on critial thinking and asking the right kinds of requirements gathering, maybe a bit of database schema design. We might get into optimizations and capacity planning as time allows.
I've conducted over 2,000 mock interviews over the past 7 years, including system design for backend AND frontend/mobile developers. I've been a lead technical interviewer since 2007, an industry programmer since 1996, and I've been a software educator since 2014. I can switch from "interviewer" to "coach" if you need more mentoring. Send me a message ahead of time on the platform if you'd like more of a "coaching" session.
In this session, we'll spend a few minutes on introductions, I'll find an appropriate challenge for you based on your goals, we'll spend about 45 minutes on the system design, and a few minutes on verbal feedback. All notes I share verbally are also provided in written form as well.
